- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Streusel Topping:
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup cold butter (cut into small pieces)
Optional Add-ins:
- Chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
- Small apple chunks or blueberries
- Chocolate chips
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Muffin Batter:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin pan with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Stir gently; avoid over-mixing.
2️⃣ Make the Streusel Topping:
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and flour.
- Add butter pieces and mash with a fork or your fingers until the mixture forms small crumbs.
3️⃣ Assemble and Bake:
- Fill muffin cups two-thirds full with batter.
- Generously sprinkle streusel topping over each muffin, pressing lightly to help it stick.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool for 5 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
Notes
- To keep muffins moist, don’t overmix the batter; a few lumps are fine.
- For a fruit-filled twist, fold in 1/2 cup diced apples or blueberries.
- Streusel crumbs too sticky? Pop them in the fridge for 5 minutes before topping.
