Sourdough French toast is a tasty twist on the classic breakfast dish
Ingredients
- 4 slices of panettone (about 1 inch thick)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp butter (for frying)
- Fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, etc.)
- Honey for drizzling
Instructions
1. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
2. Dip the panettone slices in the egg mixture, soaking both sides well.
3. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the soaked panettone slices for 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
4. Serve the French toast with fresh berries and a drizzle of honey.
Notes
For a festive touch, add a sprinkle of powdered sugar before serving.
You can use a mix of fruits, like blueberries and blackberries, for added color and flavor.
