This Toll House Chocolate Chip Pie takes the classic flavors of chocolate chip cookies and transforms them into a rich, dense, and fudgy pie. With a sweet, buttery batter loaded with chocolate chips and walnuts, this dessert is perfectly served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
Ingredients
- 1 unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie shell
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- Vanilla ice cream (optional for serving)
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line a deep dish pie plate with the unbaked pie crust and crimp the edges.
2. Mix the Batter: In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs on high speed until light and foamy. Add flour, granulated sugar, and brown sugar, then mix until combined. Add softened butter and mix until smooth.
3. Add Mix-ins: Stir in chocolate chips and chopped walnuts, mixing evenly into the batter.
4. Bake: Spoon the batter into the prepared pie crust and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a knife inserted halfway between the edge and center comes out clean.
5. Serve: Cool for 30 minutes on a wire rack, and serve warm with vanilla ice cream for a classic combination!
